Eze 4:9-17. By the provision of the siege, is shewn the hardness of the famine.

Ezekiel chapter 5

Eze 5:1-4. Under the type of hair,
Eze 5:5-11. is shewn the judgment of Jerusalem for their rebellion;
Eze 5:12-17. by famine, sword, and dispersion.

Ezekiel chapter 6

Eze 6:1-7. The judgment of Israel for their idolatry.
Eze 6:8-10. A remnant shall be blessed.
Eze 6:11-14. The faithful are exhorted to lament their abominations and calamities.

Ezekiel chapter 7

Eze 7:1-15. The final desolation of Israel.
Eze 7:16-19. The mournful repentance of them that escape.
Eze 7:20-22. The enemies defile the sanctuary because of the Israelites’ abominations.
Eze 7:23-27. Under the type of a chain is shewn the miserable captivity of all orders of men.

Ezekiel chapter 8

Eze 8:1-4. Ezekiel, in a vision of God at Jerusalem,
Eze 8:5-6. is shewn the image of jealousy;
Eze 8:7-12. the chambers of imagery;
Eze 8:13-15. the mourners for Tammuz;
Eze 8:16. the worshippers toward the sun.
Eze 8:17-18. God’s wrath for their idolatry.

Ezekiel chapter 9

Eze 9:1-4. A vision, whereby is shewn the preservation of some;
Eze 9:5-7. and the destruction of the rest.
Eze 9:8-11. God cannot be intreated for them.

Ezekiel chapter 10

Eze 10:1-7. The vision of the coals of fire, to be scattered over the city.
Eze 10:8-22. The vision of the cherubims.

Ezekiel chapter 11

Eze 11:1-3. The presumption of the princes.
Eze 11:4-12. Their sin and judgment.
Eze 11:13-20. Ezekiel complaining, God shews him his purpose in saving a remnant;
Eze 11:21. and punishing the wicked.
Eze 11:22-23. The glory of God leaves the city.
Eze 11:24-25. Ezekiel is returned to the captivity.

Ezekiel chapter 12

Eze 12:1-7. Under the type of Ezekiels’s removing,
Eze 12:8-16. is shewn the captivity of Zedekiah.
Eze 12:17-20. Ezekiel’s trembling shews the Jews’ desolation.
Eze 12:21-25. The Jews’ presumptuous proverb is reproved.
Eze 12:26-28. The speediness of the vision.

Ezekiel chapter 13

Eze 13:1-9. The reproof of lying prophets,
Eze 13:10-16. and their untempered morter.
Eze 13:17-23. Of prophetesses and their pillows.

Ezekiel chapter 14

Eze 14:1-5. God answers idolaters according to their own heart.
Eze 14:6-11. They are exhorted to repent, for fear of judgments, by means of seduced prophets.
Eze 14:12-14. God’s irrevocable sentence of famine;
Eze 14:15-16. of noisome beasts;
Eze 14:17-18. of the sword;
Eze 14:19-21. and of pestilence.
Eze 14:22-23. A remnant shall be reserved for example of others.

Ezekiel chapter 15

Eze 15:1-5. By the unfitness of the vine branch for any work,
Eze 15:6-8. is shewn the rejection of Jerusalem.

Ezekiel chapter 16

Eze 16:1-5. Under the similitude of a wretched infant is shewn the natural state of Jerusalem.
Eze 16:6-14. God’s extraordinary love towards her.
Eze 16:15-34. Her monstrous whoredom.
Eze 16:35-43. Her grievous judgment.
Eze 16:44-59. Her sin, equal to her mother, and exceeding her sisters, Sodom and Samaria, calls for judgments.
Eze 16:60-63. Mercy is promised her in the end.

Ezekiel chapter 17

Eze 17:1-10. Under the parable of two eagles and a vine,
Eze 17:11-21. is shewn God’s judgment upon Jerusalem for revolting from Babylon to Egypt.
Eze 17:22-24. God promises to plant the cedar of the Gospel.

Ezekiel chapter 18

Eze 18:1-30. God defends his justice;
Eze 18:31-32. and exhorts to repentance.

Ezekiel chapter 19

Eze 19:1-9. A lamentation for the princes of Israel, under the parable of lion’s whelps taken in a pit;
Eze 19:10-14. and for Jerusalem, under the parable of a wasted vine.

Ezekiel chapter 20

Eze 20:1-3. God refuses to be consulted by the elders of Israel.
Eze 20:4-9. He shews the story of their rebellions in Egypt,
Eze 20:10-26. in the wilderness,
Eze 20:27-32. and in the land.
Eze 20:33-44. He promises to gather them by the Gospel.
Eze 20:45-49. Under the name of a forest he shews the destruction of Jerusalem.

Ezekiel chapter 21

Eze 21:1-7. Ezekiel prophesies against Jerusalem with a sign of sighing.
Eze 21:8-17. The sharp and bright sword;
Eze 21:18-24. against Jerusalem;
Eze 21:25-27. against the kingdom;
Eze 21:28-32. and against the Ammonites.

Ezekiel chapter 22

Eze 22:1-16. A catalogue of sins in Jerusalem, and the dispersion of the Jews in consequence.
Eze 22:17-22. God will burn them as dross in his furnace.
Eze 22:23-31. The general corruption of prophets, priests, princes, and people.

Ezekiel chapter 23

Eze 23:1-22. The whoredoms of Aholah and Aholibah.
Eze 23:23-35. Aholibah is to be plagued by her lovers.
Eze 23:36-44. The prophet reproves the adulteries of them both;
Eze 23:45-49. and shews their judgments.

Ezekiel chapter 24

Eze 24:1-5. Under the parable of a boiling pot,
Eze 24:6-14. is shewn the irrevocable destruction of Jerusalem.
Eze 24:15-18. By the sign of Ezekiel not mourning for the death of his wife,
Eze 24:19-27. is shewn the calamity of the Jews to be beyond all sorrow.

Ezekiel chapter 25

Eze 25:1-7. God’s vengeance, for their insolency against the Jews, upon the Ammonites;
Eze 25:8-11. upon Moab and Seir;
Eze 25:12-14. upon Edom;
Eze 25:15-17. and upon the Philistines.

Ezekiel chapter 26

Eze 26:1-6. Tyrus, for insulting against Jerusalem, is threatened with destruction.
Eze 26:7-14. The power of Nebuchadnezzar against her.
Eze 26:15-21. The mourning and astonishment of the sea at her fall.

Ezekiel chapter 27

Eze 27:1-25. The riches and commerce of Tyrus.
Eze 27:26-36. The great and irrecoverable fall thereof.

Ezekiel chapter 28

Eze 28:1-10. God’s judgment upon the prince of Tyrus for his sacrilegious pride.
Eze 28:11-19. A lamentation of his great glory corrupted by sin.
Eze 28:20-23. The judgment of Zidon.
Eze 28:24-26. The restoration of Israel.

Ezekiel chapter 29

Eze 29:1-7. The judgment of Pharoh for his treachery to Israel.
Eze 29:8-12. The desolation of Egypt.
Eze 29:13-16. The restoration thereof after 40 years.
Eze 29:17-20. Egypt the reward of Nebuchadnezzar.
Eze 29:21. Israel shall be restored.

Ezekiel chapter 30

Eze 30:1-19. The desolation of Egypt and her helpers.
Eze 30:20-26. The arm of Babylon shall be strengthened to break the arm of Egypt.

Ezekiel chapter 31

Eze 31:1-2. A relation unto Pharaoh,
Eze 31:3-9. of the glory of Assyria,
Eze 31:10-17. and the fall thereof for pride.
Eze 31:18. The like destruction of Egypt.

Ezekiel chapter 32

Eze 32:1-10. A lamentation for the fearful fall of Egypt.
Eze 32:11-16. The sword of Babylon shall destroy it.
Eze 32:17-32. It shall be brought down to hell, among all the uncircumcised nations.

Ezekiel chapter 33

Eze 33:1-6. According to the duty of a watchman in warning the people,
Eze 33:7-9. Ezekiel is admonished of his duty.
Eze 33:10-16. God shews the justice of his ways towards the penitent and towards revolters.
Eze 33:17-20. He maintains his justice.
Eze 33:21-29. Upon the news of the taking of Jerusalem he prophecies the desolation of the land.
Eze 33:30-33. God’s judgment upon the mockers of the prophets.

Ezekiel chapter 34

Eze 34:1-6. A reproof of the shepherds.
Eze 34:7-10. God’s judgment against them.
Eze 34:11-19. His providence over his flock.
Eze 34:20-31. The kingdom of Christ.

Ezekiel chapter 35

Eze 35:1-15. The judgment of mount Seir for their hatred of Israel, and insulting over their distress.

Eze 37:1-10. By the resurrection of dry bones,
Eze 37:11-14. the dead hope of Israel is revived.
Eze 37:15-17. By the uniting of two sticks,
Eze 37:18-20. is shewn the incorporation of Israel into Judah.
Eze 37:21-28. The promises of Christ’s kingdom.

Ezekiel chapter 38

Eze 38:1-7. The army,
Eze 38:8-13. and malice of Gog.
Eze 38:14-23. God’s judgment against him.

Ezekiel chapter 39

Eze 39:1-7. God’s judgment upon Gog.
Eze 39:8-10. Israel’s victory.
Eze 39:11-16. Gog’s burial in Hamon-gog.
Eze 39:17-20. The feast of the fowls.
